Self-introduction:
One of the biggest decisions I’ve made in my life was probably embarking on a career change from engineering to design. Although these fields seem totally different, for me, they complement each other. I believe that design begins with divergent thinking and ends with convergent thinking. The key to producing good work is to know how to apply convergence production. Logic trained in the field of engineering can help develop attention to detail in terms of design, while cultivating thinking skills in the field of design can help prevent stagnant and stubborn straight thinking. I believe that interdisciplinary study is a way to enhance competitive power. One of my greatest gains from changing my career to design is being able to free myself from an intrinsic thinking pattern and being able to explore new knowledge. With this change, I can do the things I like with a more open mind and be not afraid to express curiosity when facing new things instead of being afraid. This change has actually become an advantage to me and a source of my design inspiration.
從工程領域跨到設計領域，這大概是我人生中最大的決定之一，雖然設計與工程名義上是兩個截然不同的科目，但對我來說是相輔相成的，我認為設計從發想到最後是需要收斂的，而如何收斂與產出則是作品好壞的關鍵，工程領域所訓練的邏輯可以檢視設計應有的細節；而設計領域所訓練的思維則可避免無趣死板的直線發想。因此，跨領域學習對我來說是提升競爭力的方式，願意讓自己跳脫原有的框架思維而去主動探索更多新知是跨設計領域後最大的收穫之一，利用這項改變我可以更敞開心胸去做許多想做的事，面對陌生的事物反而會產生好奇心而不去懼怕它，而這項改變儼然也成為我的強項之一，並成為我的設計點子來源。
